Havasi is why I made a long weekend trip to Budapest. He’s a classically trained graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He’s also a musical legend at 42 years of age. But his shows are very contemporary with new age music, orchestra, lights, video and special effects.
His arena shows sell out right away. He had three performances this year in the Budapest Arena. This is a very large arena as you can see in the picture. My seat was 7th row center!! I was lucky to get such a good seat as they were just going on sale when I made the decision to go!
I first heard about Havasi in 2009. At that time, he had been awarded the title of The Fastest Pianist of the World by the Guinness World Records Board. He hit the same piano key 498 times in 60 seconds. For your information, that title is presently held by a man from Portugal who hit the same piano key 824 times in one minute!!
When we moved to Kosovo, I knew there was a possibility to get to Budapest or one of the other cities to see his arena show. He will be performing at the New World Center in Miami, Florida on February 24 and 25, 2018. If you are in the area, I highly recommend trying to see him!!
And what piano maker does he use? You got it! Bosendorfer, the same piano maker that gave Franz Liszt his specialized desk. Remember the one that had the three octave keyboard in the middle drawer that you read about in yesterday’s post?
This show was spectacular. I’ll let the videos showcase his talents.
